Behind the lens - What my day looks like on your wedding day and beyond.

Most people, when they start in this industry, don’t realize how much goes into what's behind the lens. Not to mention, if you are one of our clients. I wanted to give you a peek into what my day looks like on a wedding day. When I started this business, I wanted to be able to “cross-train” as much as possible so I knew what some other vendors go through on wedding days. When I was young, I worked for a catering company, so I already know how hard those people work. (Literally the hardest, most thankless job.) And in the last few years, I have been working for several wedding planning companies. So I am going to provide you with a sample timeline and give you an idea of what my job as a photographer looks like.

Let’s say, for the purpose of this exercise, this wedding is at Boettcher Mansion, which is 45 minutes from my home, and the Bride and Groom have gone with the Something Blue package. This package includes an engagement shoot and 8 hours of coverage on their wedding day. This means before the wedding day, we have already communicated many times and even done an engagement photoshoot together. This usually happens months, if not a year, before the main event.

Within the next month or two, I will carefully curate, cull, and edit the photos from this event and then provide them via Pixieset Album.

I hope that all made sense. Sometimes it looks like all we do is show up and take photos, but I know most of us wish that were true. It takes a lot of time to prep, and our day is just as long as the other vendors. Not to mention all the editing after the wedding, all the social media prep, website building, and networking that happens before that to even get an inquiry in the first place. I love all my clents and I am happy to put the work in so I can do this full time someday!
