My Top 5 Colorado Elopement Locations

Breckenridge

I love Breck. It’s one of the reasons I moved here from the Midwest. I love the vibes and views. I would absolutely love for someone to book me for an elopement where we walk around the city and take pictures on the streets. This would be a great place to incorporate your dog if you wanted. Breckenridge is super dog-friendly. There are lots of places to shop and eat. The town is just so pretty. I would love to plan and photograph this elopement, specifically in the fall. We could take a gondola up the mountain and go for a hike to get all those awesome views. You could even book a hotel or AirBNB and still get the getting-ready photos.

Broadmoor Hotel

This hotel is expensive, but I was thinking that if a couple really wanted to treat themselves by booking a hotel room here and then eloping on the property, it would be so magical. The grounds are well taken care of and beautiful all year round. Not to mention the inside of the hotel is just as picturesque. You have to book a room to have permission to photograph there, so I have never had the opportunity. However, I have been there many times over the years, so photographing there has always been on the bucket list. They also have a small library that I have been dying to do a photoshoot in!

Crested Butte

I did a styled shoot here in early July 2025, which is when all the pretty flowers peak. You have to be really careful if this is the location you want to elope because the flowers are only there in full maybe a month. My trip was a quick turnaround trip, so I didn’t get to do much hiking. I would love to hike further up before sunset to get what will surely be epic golden hour photos with the flowers. Then go camping in the site right before the trails start, right there in the flowers, to get night shots.

Denver Capitol Building

Last year, I planned several incredible styled shoots. The first was at the Denver Capitol Building. It has a really rich history starting in the 1800s. I actually just went on a ghost tour with my dad, and we found out that it’s actually pretty haunted! Despite that, the inside is has this warm vintage look about it. Lots of wood and staircases. It’s very well-kept for its age. I would love to do it all over again with everything I have learned in the last year.

Maroon Bells

Maroon Bells are an iconic mountain spot in Colorado. This elopement would be a full on hiking day. Maybe even a camping trip too. This is one place I have never had the opportunity to go, and I am dying to go.
